Oleva L Dick Obituary (1928

Oleva L. Dick, 90, of Champaign, passed away peacefully on Monday (April 23, 2018) at Eastern Star Home in Macon. Cremation rites have been accorded at her request. She was born on March 25, 1928, the daughter of Wanna (Craig) and Joe Lovelace in Buncombe, IL. Oleva married Floyd Eugene Dick on June 14, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1996. She attended Southern Illinois University for her Bachelor's in Education; and the University of Illinois, achieving her Master's degree in Library Science. She had been employed by Kinmundy, Vienna, Pope County, Hurst-Bush, and Newman school districts. While teaching at Newman High School she was also the sponsor for the G.A.A. and cheerleading. She was a very active member of the Order of Eastern Star, attaining the rank of Worthy Grand Matron. She was on numerous Easter Star committees including Eastern Star Home and Scholarship. Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne (Jim) Fruendt, of Beaverville; her grandson, Adam (Emily) Wojnowski, of Kankakee, her two great granddaughters, Hannah and Hailey Wojnowski; sister-in-law Linda Parker and two nephews, Shane and Kerry Parker. No visitation services will be held, as per her wishes. Inurnment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Buncombe, IL. Memorials may be made to The Order of Eastern Star.
