O. Ralph "Fritz" Mizeur Obituary (1939

O. Ralph Fritz Mizeur, 78, of Pana, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born June 14, 1939 in Audubon Township, the son of Orville and Norma (Waddington) Mizeur. He married Carmen Christman in Taylorville on June 26, 1964 and she survives him in Pana. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Larry) Rakers of Normal, IL and his son, Kirk Mizeur of Springfield, IL; grandchildren: Eric (Tara) Rakers, Jeremy (Amanda) Rakers and Dustin Mizeur; great-grandchildren: Connor, Logan and Brady Rakers and Chloe Rakers; 2 step grandchildren: Dustin Tebedo & Hunter Tebedo; sisters: Shirley Jackson of Pana, IL and Doris (Wilbur) Metzger of Pana, IL; and sister-in-law Jane Mizeur of Princeton, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roger Joe Mizeur. Fritz was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Pana Elks Lodge #1261, Pana Moose Lodge #1015 and the Pana Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and socializing with his good friends. He loved to vacation with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks and spent many hours crappie fishing by the lake. Later in life, he and Carmen had many great times vacationing with friends. He had been a farmer his entire life. He loved the land, working with his family, had great relationships with his neighbors, and the people he worked with in the agriculture business. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife Carmen, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always known as a kind, gentle and fair man that was always happy and had a smile on his face. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the St. Patricks Catholic Church in Pana at 10:00 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 noon following visitation with Rev. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemond Grove Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Pana Veterans Honor Guard.
