Niles T. Lighthall Obituary (1932

Niles T. Lighthall, 87, of Pontiac, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. His service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Reverend Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Southside Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Niles was born August 17, 1932, in Clinton, IL to Leon and Grace Ellen (Maples) Lighthall. He is survived by his nieces, Valerie (Robert) Mixen of Cornell, IL, Karen Rey of New Port Riche, FL; nephew, Delbert (Nona) McDonald of Pontiac, IL; a special grandniece, Michelle Revoir of Pontiac, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Calvin, Harold, and Jack Lighthall; and three sisters, Carolann Radley, Joyce McDonald, and Florence Riley. Niles was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, IL. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Niles had worked as a security guard for many years for several companies. Niles cared deeply for the family pets, Chippy the dog and Toby the cat. He enjoyed sitting on his porch smoking his pipe.
