Nathen Brent Obituary (2014 - 2025)

Nathen Joseph Brent, 10 of Witt, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Hillsboro Area Hospital. He was born on February 11, 2014, in Springfield. Nathen faced many challenges throughout his life, but he was a warrior and fought strong. He was a bright, beautiful child who brought joy to everyone that knew him. He loved music and having stories read to him. Nathen brought peace to those around him with just a smile, and he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving family, parents: Jessie Brent and Garrett Wiley; brother: Aden Brent; grandparents: Mikie Lynn Salmon, Stephen Brent, Terry Cummins, and Brent Cummins; great grandfather: Michael Salmon Sr., and several aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles including: Taylor Smith, Michelle & B. A. Sklenka, James and Kristin Salmon, Michael Salmon Jr. & Teresa Smith; and GMom and Aunt Dez and Uncle Mike; and several cousins. Cremation services will be accorded, and Nathen’s family will host a celebration of his life at a later date. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
