Nancy J. Rodgers

Nancy J. Rodgers, 57, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in her home. She was born April 2, 1960 in Pana, daughter of the late James F. & Florence J. (Alexander) Russell.
Nancy lived in central Illinois most of her life. She was a graduate of Lake Land College as an LPN in 1983 & RN in 1988. She then worked as an RN in long term care and was very devoted to the people she cared for. Nancy touched many patients, families, & junior staff members in her career. Nancy enjoyed going to the casino, but her greatest joy was raising her son & watching him play football. She raised & loved many of his friends as though they were her own.
Nancy is survived by her son, Stanley Rodgers, Decatur, IL; special son, Jacardia Wright; siblings: Gail Coulter, Pana, IL; Jill Spurgeon, Somerset, KY; Karen (Jerry) Davidson, Pana, IL & James H. Russell, Pana, IL; nieces & nephews: Julie Mason, Jennifer Epley, Amanda Ryan-Williams, Aaron Coulter, Melissa Spurgeon, Angela Davidson-Garlick, Janelle Holthaus, Nicole Houseman, Matthew Spurgeon, Morgan Russell, Alexandria Russell; and many great nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Markham.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m. with Adam Henderson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
