Nancy L. Legg Obituary (1938

Nancy L. (Onken) Legg, age 87, of Pontiac, IL, passed away on September 15, 2025, at 8:38 p.m. at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 1pm-3pm at Bob and Ringo's in the banquet room. Memorials in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements. Nancy was born on February 5, 1938, in Minonk, IL, to John F. Onken and Mary H. (Wypeski) Onken. She married the love of her life, H. Morton Legg Jr. on March 29, 1957, in Pontiac, IL. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1973. Survivors include her children: Jeffrey (Robin) Legg of Aurora, CO, John (Darlene) Legg of Justice, IL, Jane (J.D.) Smith of Peoria, AZ, and James Thomas (Molly Rooney) Legg of Burlington, WA; grandchildren: Nicole Olds, Joshua (Stefani) Legg, Krysta (Daniel) Toczek, Carly (Alex) Anderson, and Luke Smith; great-grandchildren: Landon Olds, Ethan Olds, Addison Legg, Callan Legg, Coleman Legg, and Parker Toczek. She is also survived by her siblings: Donald (Diane) Onken and James (Shirley) Onken; sister-in-law: Audrey Onken (Robert Onken); and brothers-in-law: James (Joann) Legg and Alan (Jan) Legg. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and brother: Robert Onken. Nancy graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1956. She managed S&M Shoes in Pontiac, IL, for many years, and then worked at the Aurora Colorado Medical Center until her retirement. She was a loyal and faithful Catholic. Nancy enjoyed crafting and playing bridge. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She truly was the best mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, and friend. She leaves behind cherished memories, forever held in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
