Nancy Ann Lowder Obituary (1936

Nancy Ann Lowder: A Life of Love, Family and Faith Our beautiful mom, Nancy Ann Lowder, was born June 29, 1936 and passed away on September 8, 2024. She was the daughter of Steve and Marguerite Centko and married Oren Lincoln Lowder in 1953 in Virden. Nancy graduated from Virden High School in 1953 and worked for many years at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Virden. She then worked and later retired from the State of Illinois Department on Aging after nearly 20 years of service. Even in retirement, Nancy continued to work at Itac, making good use of her endless energy. Nancy loved her family, playing cards, spending time at her place in North Myrtle Beach, anything with flowers and birds, and boy, oh boy, could she cook! Nancy became an avid reader and loved to talk politics. Nancy was very spiritual, had a strong faith and was a member of The Virden Church of the Brethren. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Bob) Richey of Sumter, SC; sister Betty Jones of Chatham and her step-granddaughter Atley Moberly of Scottsdale, AZ. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oren Lincoln Lowder; son Ray Scott Lowder and sister Barbara Brown. Funeral Services for Nancy will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 16, 2024 at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden with Pastor Katrina Spencer officiating. Burial will follow the services at Virden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the funeral home.
