Myrtle Lading

Myrtle Ellen Lading, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, TX, formerly of Pana, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026 in Greenhill Villas in Mt. Pleasant, TX. She was born November 14, 1936 in Redmon, IL, daughter of the late Ivan R. & Roberta F. (Lilly) Zeigler. Myrtle and Gene A. Lading were united in marriage on December 14, 1962 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2019.
Myrtle was the co-owner, with Gene, and bookkeeper of GMB Auto Parts for over 25 years, until her retirement. She was a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed word searches, crossword puzzles, reading books, especially her Bible. She loved crocheting, gardening and making Christmas cookies & breads for customers.
Myrtle is survived by her children: Debra Bathe, Mahomet, IL; Mona (Mike) Eddy, Pana, IL; Suzanna (Lyle) Flesner, Shelbyville, IL; Rebecca (Salvador) Navarro, Mt. Vernon, TX
7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Kay Rogers; brother, Ronald M. Zeigler & sister, Linda Kay Zeigler.
Funeral services for Myrtle will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 in the First Church of the Nazarene, Pana at 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Thomas Suey officiating. Burial will be in Eiler Cemetery, Tower Hill, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Frist Church of the Nazarene, Pana.
Memorials in Myrtle’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Christ Tabernacle, Herrick, IL and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
