Montrame "Monty" Leone Kohn, 91, of Pontiac, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, at 1:25 a.m. at her home peacefully surrounded by her loving family.\r\n\r\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac with Father Adam Cesarek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pontiac.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be Friday, February 19, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac.\r\n\r\nDuffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.\r\n\r\nMonty was born November 23, 1929, in Joliet, IL to Leonard C. and Margaret L. (Heilman) Kallman. She married Ralph "Buck" G. Kohn on November 11, 1951, in Joliet, IL. He survives in Pontiac.\r\n\r\nAlso surviving are her son, Jay C. Kohn of Pontiac, IL; special friend and caregiver, Kelly Trainor-Zehr of Pontiac, IL; daughter-in-law, Catherine Kohn of Ypsilanti, MI; grandson, Michael S. (Kristi) Kohn Ypsilanti, MI; great grandchildren, Madison and Claire Kohn; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Starr Kohn.\r\n\r\nMonty was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and later graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Joliet, IL.\r\n\r\nMonty had been an eye surgical RN for Dr. Lennon and Dr. Morimoto in Joliet. After moving to Pontiac in 1974, Monty finished her career with Dr. Mannabat and Dr. Bello. She did this undeniably-all the while maintaining a meticulous household. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac, St. Mary's Women's Guild, Dialectic Society of Pontiac, and the Pontiac Women's Club. \r\n\r\nMonty was prepared and willing to go home to Heaven and be with the rest of her family.\r\n\r\nMemorials may be made to St Mary's Catholic Church, Pontiac or to the charity of the donor's choice.\r\n\r\nOnline condolences may be made to the family at duffyfuneralhome.com or visit us on Facebook.
