Michael J. Laskowski

Michael J. Laskowski, 41, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Michael was born on February 1, 1985, the son of Michael and Lynne (Kus) Laskowski. Michael proudly served 3 deployments in the United States Marine Corps. He was a 2003 graduate of Mt. Zion High School where he played soccer and earned his associate degree from Western Illinois University.
Michael enjoyed playing basketball with friends and family, was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and a movie fanatic. He cherished the revolving door of “Zoo” animals that were kept by the family throughout his lifetime.
Michael was a very giving person with a big heart. He loved spending time with his Family, Marine Brothers and civilian friends.
Michael is survived by his special dogs: Michelle and Staisha; sisters: Carey (Gregory) Flesch and Heather (Jason) Marshall; nieces and nephew: Samantha Flesch, Alexandra Flesch, Jaelynne Flesch, Yasmine Marshall and Keegan Marshall; great nephews: Kohlmynn and Jansynn Howell all of Mt. Zion, IL
He was preceded in death by his sister: Laura Blanchard, parents, and grandparents.
A service to honor Michael’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday. A graveside service to lay Michael to rest will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Mt. Zion Township Cemetery.
