Michael Lee Huggett Sr., 66, of Normal, Illinois, passed away on March 26, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born on March 15, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana at Fort Benjamin Harrison Army Post. He built a life rooted in hard work, dedicating over 30 years to his career at Steak 'n Shake, the latter years as Senior Manager of Freight and Logistics. He took pride in providing for his family and was known for his strong work ethic and integrity. More than anything, Mike was a devoted father and grandfather. He had a quiet strength about him, paired with a witty sense of humor that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing. He was the kind of man who showed love through actions—fixing what was broken, lending a hand without being asked, and always showing up when it mattered most. He found joy in fishing and hunting trips, the softball and bowling leagues he took part in, home remodeling and repairs, tinkering with computers, backyard barbecues, and cheering on his grandchildren at their games. Those moments, simple as they were, meant everything to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Phyllis Huggett. He is lovingly remembered by his twin sister, Brenda (Mark) Dovel; his siblings, Karen (Jackson) Loebig and Paul Huggett; his children, Michael Lee Huggett Jr. (Destanee), Christine Huggett, and Kristin Potts; wonderful nieces and nephews and his cherished grandchildren, Skyler, Jordan, Jaxon, Logan, and Londynn, who brought him endless joy. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family kindly suggests donations to a charity of your choice in his memory. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and strength he gave so freely.
