Mervin Leroy Dillow

Mervin Leroy Dillow 92, of rural Decatur, passed away peacefully at 4:21 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, in his home.

A memorial service to honor Leroy’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Leroy was born March 8, 1934, in Maroa, IL the son of Mervin E. and Rowena (Brelsford) Dillow. He married Louise Roberts in 1953. She preceded him in death in 1997. He then married Marcia (Turner) Johnson in 2000.

Leroy was a longtime homebuilder. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and work ethic. More importantly, he was a devoted family man and a man of faith, who served as a deacon in his church for many years. Leroy carried his Christian values into every part of his life, setting an example for his family that will continue for generations.

Surviving is his wife: Marcia of Rural Decatur; son: Al Dillow (Gwen) of Rochester, IL; daughters: Sandy Jones (Mike) of Mt. Zion, Jeannie Burger (Mike) of Decatur and Cindy Anderson (Jerry) of Decatur; step-sons: Billy Guernsey (Becky) of Buffalo Gap, TX and Brandon Guernsey of Mt. Zion; sister: Luella Kelly of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren: Dr. Misty Phillips (Dr. Paul), Jessica Sargent (Chris), Kelli Ellis (Chris), Doug Jones, Brandy Zerfowski (Brett), April Burger, Zach Anderson (Morgan), Courtney Anderson; step-grandchildren: Ashley Schafer, Britney Rodriguez (Eric), Caleb Guernsey, Dustin Guernsey (Michelle), Raelyn Guernsey, and Madilyn Guernsey; twenty-five great grandchildren also survive.

Leroy was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, and his granddaughter: Kimberly Jones.
