Matthew S. Burton Obituary (1977

Matthew Steven "Big Matt" Burton, 45, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. Matt was born October 22, 1977, in Bloomington, the son of Steven A. and Tina M. Swick Burton. He married Georgiana Forrest. Matt is survived by four sons, Matthew Eugene Burton, Nathan Jerome Burton, Chase Anthony Burton and Peyton Dean Burton, all of Bloomington; his parents, Steve and Tina Burton of Bloomington; his maternal grandparents, Larry and Donna Doss, Sr. of Bloomington; three sisters, Lacey Burton of Bloomington, Margie Jo (Lindsey) Woods of Belvidere and Kathryn Waller of Bloomington; four aunts, two uncles; many special nieces and nephews; and two great nephews, which one affectionately referred to Matt as Mudder Bucker. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Betty Burton. Matt enjoyed fishing with his boys and will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
