Mary K. Weber Obituary (1960

In loving memory of Mary Kristen Weber who passed away peacefully at her home on September 5, 2023. She was 63 years of age. Mary was the kindest and most compassionate woman. A mother, friend, nurse and blessing to all who knew her. She truly had a pure heart that comforted and encouraged all. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac, IL on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will occur following mass at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery also in Pontiac, IL. Mary was born in Pontiac on July 20, 1960 to Joe and Virginia (Hoffman) Smith. She married Gregory Weber of Chenoa, IL on May 1984. He survives in Pontiac. Mary is survived by a large family including: her 3 children: Nate (Molly) Weber, Milwaukee, WI, Ben Weber, Madison, WI, and Grace (Erik) Limberg, Pontiac, IL; 3 grandchildren - Elliot and Graham Weber, Jonah Limberg; and several beloved nieces, nephews and godchildren. Surviving siblings include: Sue Smith, Pontiac, Kathy (Dan) McMillan, Odell; Dan (Rose) Smith, Pontiac; Steve (Mary) Smith, Pontiac; and Shannon (Terry) Dohleman, Pontiac; and In-Laws: Cindy Weber, Pontiac; Patty (John) Hill, Bloomington; Donna (Cory) Ray, Wisconsin, Stacy (Lynette) Weber, Florida. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Virginia (Hoffman) Smith of Pontiac, IL; mother-in-law Mildred Weber of Chenoa, IL and father-in-law Donald Weber, of Chenoa, IL. Mary graduated from St. Mary's Grade School, Pontiac. She graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1978. She attended Illinois State University and graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1982. Mary spent her entire nursing career at OSF Saint James Medical Center. She served and cared for patients in many roles during this time - always with her excellent clinical skills and compassionate care whether at the bedside or in a leadership role. She was most recently a Clinical Documentation Specialist. Mary's family meant everything to her and taking care of them was her true vocation. Creating a beautiful and welcoming home was her gift. She and Greg were so proud of all of their children and their accomplishments. Mary found joy in making memories with her family and capturing those memories in her beautiful scrapbooks. She lived a full and fulfilling life - using Mother Teresa as her inspiration. To honor Mary's memory, her family asks that others extend a hand of kindness to someone in need. She would want everyone to find their own Calcutta.
