Mary Carol Soule

Mary Carol Soule, age 89, of Pontiac, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at OSF St. James Hospital.

Services for Carol will be held on Friday, December 19, with a visitation at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home from 10am to 11am. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation. Carol will be laid to rest at Patty Cemetery.

She is survived by her step-children, Debra (Brian) Whitfield from Decatur, IL, and Dean (Stacey) Soule from Decatur, IL; her step-daughter in law Rhonda Soule; her step grandchildren, Madolyn Soule, Jill Parsons, Zachery Soule, Jacob Soule, Nicholas Soule, and Jacob Dearing. She is also survived by her nephew, William Cuttill; her nieces, Pam Taylor, Jan Robinson, Leann Erickson, Lois Shelby, Elaine Jozwiak, Kay Locke, Carol Ann Baker, and, and many great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Soule, her parents, Harold and Mary (nee Russell) Lange, her three sisters, Mildred Cuttill, Lois Locke, Joan Cole, her step-son Douglas Soule, her step grandson Rodney Griffin, her nephew Thomas Cuttill, and her niece Connie McWhorter.

Carol was born in Avoca Township on February 20, 1936. She attended Pontiac Grade school and High School. Carol married Lawrence Soule on January 31, 1993. She worked in Pontiac for many years for Bertsche and Berry Insurance Company. Carol was a proud Life Member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Women of the Moose, and the First United Methodist Church. Carol will be remembered for her wonderfully infectious smile.
