Marcia Kay Smith Obituary (1941 - 2024)

Marcia Kay Smith, 83 of Girard passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 2, 1941 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Keith and Evelyn (Taylor) Hart. She married Clifford “Cliff” Smith on November 26, 1956 in Ft. Madison, Iowa and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2018. Marcia was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church. One of her greatest joys was following her daughter, Sheila and son-in-law Gary as they showcased their dogs at Dog Shows. She also loved spending time with her friends and family. Marcia is survived by her daughter Sheila (Gary) Hoskins of Girard; grandchildren Chad Jessen, Josh Smith, Wesley Smith, Jennifer Smith, Kristin Smith, Shane Jessen and Wade Smith; several great-grandchildren; sister Penny Bandor of Springfield, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband, Cliff, she was preceded in death by her parents and sons Scott & Barry Smith . Funeral Services for Marcia will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home, Girard with Reverend Mark Doane officiating. Burial will follow at Girard Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Girard Fire & Rescue and will be received by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home, which is honored to be caring for Marcia’s family.
