Marcella Boarman

Marcella A. Boarman, 77, of Tower Hill passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield. She was born November 18, 1947 in Shelbyville, IL to the late George F. Cox, Sr. & Florence Catherine (Matheny) Cox. Marcella married Joseph Boarman on November 24, 1994. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2002.
Marcella had worked at International Paper in Shelbyville. She loved hummingbirds, reading on her kindle & her cats.
She is survived by her children: Deidra White, Tower Hill, IL; Kimberly Eldridge, Owosso, MI; Tina (Glenn) Calloway, Caledonia, WI; grandchildren: Cory (Ashley) Dial, Nick (Katie) White, Breanne (Blake) Heimsness, Madison Eldridge & Sara Eldridge; 7 great grandchildren and siblings: Rozella Sanders, Tower Hill, IL; Marlene Dial, Tower Hill, IL; Darlene Hays, Pana, IL; George (Tina) Cox, Pana, IL; Roger Cox, Moweaqua, IL. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Pat Cox; siblings: Debra Ishmael & Bill Cox and brothers-in-law: Russ Ishmael & Charlie Sanders.
Funeral services for Marcella will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Neil Kaiser officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Memorials in Marcella’s honor may be made to the Shelby County Humane Society and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
