Madonna Mary Herkert Obituary (1915

Madonna Mary Herkert, 89, of Taylorville, IL died at 7:20 am Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at her residence. She was born July 9, 1915 in Johnson Township, the daughter of Rudolph Francis and Anna Margaret Brendle Herkert. Madonna was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville; 50 year member of the Catholic Daughter's of America; 50 year member of Catholic Foresters of Morrisonville; Associate member of the Adorer's of the Blood of Christ. She had retired from the Country Kitchen after being head cook for 20 years, and she had been the head of the funeral meals committee of St. Mary's Catholic church, retiring from that position in May 2004. Surviving are her sister: Marcella Lush and husband Joe of Morrisonville; Brother-in-law: Leon P. Cocagne of West Covina, CA and Sister-in-law: Norma Jean Herkert of Taylorville, IL. Several Nieces and nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews and Great-great Nieces and Great-great Nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters: Theresa Atkinson and Frances Cocagne; Brother: Rudolph W. Herkert; Brother-in-law: Kenneth Atkinson and Nephews: Daniel Cocagne and Kenneth Edward Poor. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Charles Dahlby and Deacon Dan Willenborg officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, November 26 in McClure Funeral Home Taylorville, IL.
