Lylas B. Stone Obituary (1921

Lylas B. Stone, 89, of Taylorville, IL died at 6:10 pm Saturday, May 28, 2011 at her residence. She was born October 22, 1921 in Nokomis, IL the daughter of Merrill and Grace Carroll Mansfield. On July 26, 1943 she married Roy S. Stone, formerly of Kincaid, in Gladsden, AL. They were later divorced and he preceded her in death. She worked at the ammunition plant in Illiopolis, IL during World War II. She was an excellent homemaker and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Surviving are her daughters: Sharon Pennington of Springfield, IL and Susan Ladage and husband Tom of Tuscola, IL. Son: John Stone of Taylorville; Grandchildren: Christopher Ladage and Jeffrey Ladage of Tuscola, and Devin Stone and Bryan Stone of Taylorville. Great Grandchildren: Dylan Stone and Addison Stone. Brother Lyle Mansfield of Pana. There are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and Brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald Mansfield and wife Betty of Morresville, IN and Kenneth Mansfield and wife Evelyn of Morrisonville. A Private memorial services was held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
