Lucy Graves Obituary (1941 - 2024)

Louvernia “Lucy” Helen Graves, 82, of Pana passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, in Pana Health & Rehab. She was born April 20, 1941, in Shelby County to the late Charles & Jessie Eileen (Wilcox) Collins. She married Vernon Gene Graves on December 30, 1983 in Tennessee and he preceded her in death. Lucy was a homemaker and helped drive a semi later in her life. She loved animals, western movies, and cooking. Lucy is survived by her nieces & nephews: Debra Bender, Scott Collins, Kendra Collins-Carter, Chuck Collins, Carolyn Collins, Kirtus Collins, Debbie Collins-Beck, Dr. Kevin Collins and special great nephew, Preston Collins. In addition to Preston, Lucy is survived by a special sister-in-law, Myra Collins Mathias. She was preceded in death by her son, James Russell “Buddy” Hays in 1990; siblings: Clarence Collins, Ernest Collins, Kenneth Collins & one brother in infancy, Lewis Earl Collins; nephew, Harvey Collins & niece, Keri Collins. The family would like to thank the staff at Pana Health & Rehab for their excellent care for Lucy for the past several years. Per Lucy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services are planned at this time. Memorials in Lucy’s honor may be made to the family and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
