Lorraine I. Hughes, age 93, of Pontiac, IL, passed away at 8:08 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Flanagan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flanagan, IL, with her loving family by her side. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, located at 903 W. Custer Avenue, Pontiac, IL, 61764. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Sullivan Center Cemetery in Cullom, IL. Deacon Ray White will be presiding over her service. Memorials in Lorraine’s memory may be made to the family. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home is entrusted with these arrangements. Lorraine was born on December 22, 1931, in Chicago, IL, to Frank and Isabel (Duffy) Rich. She was united in marriage to the love of her life: Don C. Hughes, on February 23, 1952, in Hinsdale, IL. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her children; Isabel (LeRoy) Owens, Debbie Churchill, Robert (Elizabeth) Hughes, and Harriett Hughes. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and four children: Carolan Hughes, Brenda Lee Hughes, Donny Hughes, and Carl Hughes. Lorraine was a feisty but kind woman who loved her family endlessly. Her greatest pride in her life was being a mother and a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren deeply and made memories that will forever be cherished by them. Spending quality time and making all those precious unforgettable memories are what made her the absolute happiest in her life. She will truly be missed by all of her family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to know her.
