Lori Ann Travis O’Rourke, age 63, of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away on January 7th, 2026. Lori was born February 14th, 1962, to Frederick “Bud” Travis and Myrtis Travis of Monroe, Louisiana, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose outgoing personality, quick wit, and intelligence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Marisha (Tom) Smalling of Kissimmee, Florida; Elizabeth (Justin) Riley of Normal, Illinois; Mary Kate O’Rourke of Austin, Texas; and Annie O’Rourke of Bloomington, Illinois. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Audrey, Coleman, Travis, and Patrick, who were a great source of joy in her life. Lori had a vibrant spirit and deep appreciation for life. A trained ballet dancer, she had a lifelong love of dance and music, and she carried that grace and passion with her throughout her life. An avid traveler and certified scuba diver, Lori embraced adventure and was always eager to experience the beauty of the world. She brought laughter and warmth wherever she went. Lori earned her undergraduate degree from Northeast Louisiana University and went on to receive her law degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale Law School. Professionally, Lori dedicated her career to public service as an Assistant State’s Attorney for McLean County. She was deeply committed to justice and advocacy, earning numerous accolades throughout her career, including being named Hero of the Highway by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, among other honors. Her work made a meaningful impact on the community she served. Lori will be remembered for her strength, her compassion, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of service, laughter, and fierce devotion for those she loved. Services will be held in Louisiana at a later date.
