Lois J. Hoit

NORMAL - Lois J. Hoit of Normal, IL, was called home October 11, 2023 at the age of 96.

Visitation will be October 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvert-Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Connor Wood officiating.

The burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy, IL.

Mrs. Hoit was born November 12, 1926, in Peru, IN a daughter of Guy T. and Opal M. (Whitworth) Hiner. She married Harry E. Hoit on June 13, 1943 in South Mills, NC. He preceded her in death in 2022. Also preceding her in death was their son Michael Hoit and son-in-law John McClure.

Survivors include 4 Children: Sharon A. McClure, Mason City, IL; Michele E. (Dennis) Garrigus, Normal, IL; Jayne A. (Thomas) Hancock, St. Joseph, IL and Wayne A. Hoit (Tamara) Richmond, IN. Also surviving are 9 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Mrs. Hoit was employed as an LPN at the McLean County Health Department, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Eastview Christian Church. She was also a member of Salt Creek Chapter, D.A.R. She went peacefully home to her Heavenly Father. She was a much-loved Wife, Mom and Grandma, Great Grandma and Great-Great Grandma.
