Lois Ann Detloff, 75 of Bloomington, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on August 31, 2019 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 4pm at Eastview with Pastor Mike Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4pm at the church.

Lois was born on October 17, 1943 in Bloomington to Donald and Helen Erickson Powell. She married Marv Detloff on October 21, 1962 in Heyworth.

Lois is survived by her husband, Marv; their children, Rick (Angie) Detloff, Dallas, TX; and Rob (Teri) Detloff, Morton. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Allison, Drew (Hope), Luke (Grace), Hannah, Levi, and Haley; sister, Loretta Meece; stepbrother, Dennis Powell, and stepsister-in-law, Nelda Powell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a stepbrother, Terry Powell.

Lois was a 1961 graduate of Heyworth High School. She was a stay at home mom before re-entering the work force. In 1987, she started working at a local bank and most recently she was the Executive Assistant to the President of First State Bank of Bloomington.

Lois has been an active member of Eastview Christian Church for 50 years. Over the years she served as a Sunday School Teacher, choir member, small group administrator, and family room host. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, loved playing card games, and had a keen eye for interior design that she shared with family and friends. BUT her favorite activity was making memories with her family, especially her grandchildren, who she adored. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family suggests memorials to be made to Eastview Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
