Lisa Nerone

Lisa Jo Nerone, 68, of Williamsville, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Lisa was born in Springfield on June 1, 1958, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (MacMurdo) Morelock . She grew up in Virden and married James “Alan” Nerone on October 19, 1985, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virden.

Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Alan Nerone of Williamsville; her daughter, Natalie (Steven) Cavaligos of Chicago; her two sons, Daniel Nerone of Chicago and Zachary Nerone of Milwaukee, WI; her two-week-old grandchild, Max Cavaligos; her brother, Joe Morelock, and her mother, Eleanor.

Lisa graduated from Virden High School. After high school, she worked for Roosevelt Life Insurance in Policy Services. She also worked as a librarian for many years at Dunlap Public Library, Riverton Public Library and Williamsville Public Library. Lisa was a proud mom and grandma and enjoyed spending time with her family any chance she could get. It meant the world to her being able to meet Max. During her free time, you could always catch her reading a good book or tending to her flowers in her garden at home. She also enjoyed traveling and took several trips to different countries with her husband. Lisa was an amazing cook and enjoyed hosting holidays for her family who adored her. She will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends for the vigil/visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virden. Interment will follow at Virden Cemetery in the Rite of Committal.
