Lisa Marie Emmert Obituary (1990

Lisa Marie Emmert, 27, of Urbana and formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 at her home. A vigil service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where visitation will follow until 7 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois. She was born January 26, 1990 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jerry and Janet Gramata Emmert. Surviving are her parents of Bloomington; a sister, Tracy Emmert of Bloomington; her maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Gramata of Huntington Beach, CA; an aunt, Linda (Toby) Edison of San Diego, CA; an uncle, John (Melissa) Gramata of Huntington Beach, CA; and her beloved cat, Moose. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Mary Ellen Emmert and her maternal grandfather, John G. Gramata Jr. Lisa furthered her education at Arizona State University and the University of Illinois, aspiring to be a social worker or library sciences professional. She was an avid Illini basketball fan and a long-time season ticket holder. She enjoyed reading, Sudoku and vegetable gardeningcultivating hot peppers being her specialty. Lisa was kind and gentle-spirited. She had a big heart. She was an amazing young woman with an uncommon inner strength. Lisa will be forever loved and deeply missed by her family.
