Lily A. Shepherd Obituary (1943

Lily A. Shepherd, 81, of Heyworth, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home of Heyworth, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements. Lily was born June 20, 1943, in Fairfield, IL, a daughter of Royal Edward and Edna Helen (Fagan) Troyer. She married David “Tuffy” Shepherd July 31, 1970. He preceded her in death in August of 2023. Lily is survived by her two daughters, Lea (Roger) Scott and Shelley (Dillon) Ivey; five granddaughters, Amber (Caleb) Bell, Sydney (Joshua) McKee, Aubrey (Gage) Scott, Hayley (Joey) Oakes, and Kara (Nathan) Oakes; six great-grandchildren, Declan, Lively, Elodie, and Wilder Bell, Piper and Finn McKee; brother, Clifford Troyer; and loving dog, Hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, David “Tuffy” Shepherd; parents; brother, George Troyer; and infant son, Michael Lynn Shepherd. Lily loved to be in the garden and feeding her backyard birds. While inside, she loved to do puzzles and be a mom. Her family was her love. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
