Lesila Kay Letz Obituary (1938 - 2020)

Lesila Kay Letz, 81, of Springfield passed away at 4:25p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on November 4, 1938 in rural Taylorville, the daughter of Leslie & Leila (Schoning) Dishon. She married Sydney Letz Jr. on January 11, 1969 in Springfield. Lesila previously worked for the Springfield Mass Transit District as a driver. She was proud of her job and was the second woman ever hired by the district. She enjoyed crafts, especially crocheting and leather work. Hunting, especially for coyotes was also a pastime she enjoyed. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She is survived by her husband: Syd Letz Jr. of Springfield; daughter: Earlene Larson (Rick) of Springfield; son: Christopher Letz (Jackquline) of Springfield; step children: Sydney Letz III of Springfield, Robert Letz (Cindy) of Riverton, and Carlinda Yates of Springfield; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces; and brother: Minor Dishon of Neoga. She was preceded in death by her parents; step son: Kevin Letz; and grandson: Dustin Dishon. A private family graveside service and burial will take place at the Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington, Illinois. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
