Leo Edward Drabant Obituary (1917

Leo Edward Drabant, 87, of Taylorville, IL died at 11:33 AM Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville, IL. He was born May 10, 1917 in Taylor Springs, IL the son of John and Mary Fanscalli Drabant. On May 26, 1945 he married Pauline Kositz at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Drabant was retired from Peabody Coal Company and Freeman Coal Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a World War II Vet of the Army Air Corps service in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theater earning 3 Bronze Battle Stars. He also a member of United Mine Worker's Local 9819, and a life member of the V.F.W. Surviving are his wife Pauline Drabant of Taylorville, IL; 2 Sons: David Drabant and wife Constance of Wichita, KS and Mark Drabant of Taylorville; Daughter: Barbara Large and husband David of Owaneco, IL. 3 Grandchildren: Shaundra Drabant of Taylorville, IL, Jeffery Large and Jennifer Large, both of Owaneco and 2 step-grandchildren: Jason Clark and Ryan Clark both of Wichita, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, September 4, 2004 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville, IL with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, September 3, 2004 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville with a prayer service at 6:30 pm.
