Lawrence R. "Larry" Freese Obituary (1947

Lawrence R. "Larry" Freese, 72, of Taylorville passed away at 4:30a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur. He was born on April 4, 1947 in Taylorville, the son of Lawrence S. and Sarah M. (Sawyer) Freese. He married Sandra Jean Erbes on June 7, 1969 in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1997. Larry was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Caterpillar after a 30-year career. He was an avid bowler, Chicago Cubs fan, and a talented woodworker. Larry is survived by his son: Jeremy Freese of Taylorville and sister: Brenda Windell, husband Larry, also of Taylorville. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and mother-in-law and father-in-law: Marcel & Eleanor Erbes. Larry will be cremated, and a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Ponting Cemetery in Stonington. Memorials in Larry's memory may be made to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
