Laurie A. Williams Obituary (1961

Laurie A. Williams, 65, passed away on July 3, 2026 at the Arc at Normal. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Laurie was born February 21, 1961 in Camden, New Jersey to Frederick Jack and Eleanor May (McBride) Wonsetler. Laurie is survived by her children, Tasha (Justin) Simmons, Joliet, IL and Kevin Williams Jr, Champaign, IL. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Jacqueline Carroll, Marlton, New Jersey; Kathleen (Jeffrey) Davies, Frankfort, Indiana; Lisa Gallagher, Marlton, New Jersey; and Thomas Wonsetler, New Haven, CT along with several half siblings and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Wonsetler. Laurie was a long time employee of Illinois Farm Bureau. She is also a graduate of Radnor High School in Radnor, PA, where she was a gifted athlete, playing volleyball, softball and basketball, which earned her a basketball scholarship. Her athletic accomplishments once even got her sister out of a traffic ticket. When the police officer realized she was related to Radnor High School's basketball star, he let her go with a warning. Her love of sports remained throughout her life as she faithfully cheered on her favorite teams, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bulls. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her.
