Larry dedicated his life to the farming community, not only through his own hard work but also through service on the McLean County Fair Board, where he helped guide the future of 4-H in his community. He also served as a trustee for the Dry Grove Township Board, further demonstrating his commitment to public service. Even after retiring, he never truly stepped away from agriculture, working full-time alongside his sons at Reinhart Landscaping and Snow, mowing in the summer and plowing snow through the winter. He was more than a leader—he was a mentor and father figure to many team members, who over the past 39 years, became like family.
Family was at the heart of everything Larry did. One of the special memories he and Ruth shared was their desire to bless others during the holidays by making homemade turtles and toffee, a tradition that brought joy to many. He married the love of his life, Ruth, in 1967, and together they built a life filled with love, faith, and cherished memories across 58 years of marriage. His legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion will live on through his children and grandchildren.
Larry’s faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of his life. He led by example, showing his family what it meant to live with integrity and purpose. During the early days of the COVID pandemic, Larry and Ruth attended the first church service held in a pasture near Lake Bloomington, a humble gathering that would later grow into The Pasture Church.
Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth, his children, Todd (Becky) Reinhart and their children Luke, Alex, and Chase; Chad (Sarah) Reinhart and their sons Caleb and Carson; daughter Lori (Mike) Newell and Lacey Humbert and her daughters Cara Humbert and Amanda Dietz and great grandchild (Chandler Deitz). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who cherished him deeply. His presence in their lives was a blessing, and his love will continue to guide them.
Larry’s legacy is one of faith, hard work, and love. As Jesus said in John 14:6, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' This truth was the foundation of Larry’s faith and the hope he carried for eternity. Though he will be deeply missed, his impact on his family and community will never fade.
