La'Tanya Yoniyahh Campbell Obituary (1957

La'Tanya Yoniyahh Campbell passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois at the age of 66. La'Tanya is survived by her Three children, Nia Irene Campbell, (age 35), Jeshiah Maiaki Campbell (age 32) and Deijave Flowers (age 26), Five grandchildren Elijah Aviener Stewart (age 13), Noah Campbell (age 11), Nadiv Campbell (age 8) Nasir Smith (age 6) & Ormari Smith (age 2) Sister's Jovita Brooks, Pat Skaggs, Sharleatha C Morgan, Davia Brooks, Thea D Jamison, Nedra Brooks Sobule, Dayanita Medjesky, Brothers Byron D Brooks, Thaddeus C Brooks, Darius L Brooks & Andre M Armstrong ,Uncles Thomas Nunnally, Curtis Nunnally, Aunt Betty Nunnally, and a Host of Nieces and Nephews. Family who proceded La'Tanya in death were her beloved parents, Joseph Smith Campbell (1999) & Ethel Irene Armstrong (1985) Sister's Micheline Walton, Jenise Campbell Brooks (2004) brothers Craig Walton (1985) & Dayan Brooks (2021) LaTanya was born May 3, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. She went to Austin High School and later Graduated from Normal Community West obtaining her GED. La'Tanya lived in Israel for eight years where she studied the Hebrew Culture and was given the Hebrew name Yoniyahh. Yoni, short for Yoniyahh is what her family & friends called her. She appreciated the adjustment as it allowed her to maintain her association with her Hebrew Culture. She enjoyed and valued the time she spent with her grandchildren, whether she was cooking, playing crossword puzzles, games or having them at home. She had a Love for old school music. She would lay back in her recliner, sing along and tap her feet to the tunes of the Stylistics, Smokie Robinson, The Isley Brothers, just to name a few. LaTanya was a loving mother, grandmother, a Beloved Sister, Niece, & Doda, which is the Hebrew name for auntie. Her humble spirit and loving heart will be forever missed. La'Tanya's Celebration of Life Memorial will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to her estate.
