L. Eleanor Zeeb Obituary (1925

L. Eleanor Zeeb, 89, of Blue Mound, IL passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Moweaqua Nursing & Retirement Home. A service to celebrate Eleanor's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Eleanor will be laid to rest in Hall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Blue Mound Lions Club or Meridian Church of God. Eleanor was born on October 21, 1925 in Blue Mound, IL, the daughter of John Everett and Leona Charlotte (Scott) Brown. She was a 1943 graduate of Blue Mound High School. Eleanor married William Earl "Bill" Zeeb on December 17, 1943. They were later divorced. Eleanor was an operating room technician for Decatur Memorial Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Osbornville A.T.A., 50 year member of the Blue Mound Eastern Star, honorary member of the Blue Mound Lions Club, and a member of the Friendship Club of rural Blue Mound. Eleanor enjoyed her Tuesday morning breakfasts with her high school classmates. She loved to play bingo and Bunco, going to the casino and she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Eleanor is survived by her children: Diane Ritter and her husband Laverne Malone of Maroa, IL, Leon Zeeb of Benton, KY, Joseph Zeeb and his wife Rita of Waverly, IA and Jefferey Zeeb of Taylorville, IL; daughter-in-law: Susan Zeeb of Mt. Carmel, IL; brother: C. William Brown of Decatur, IL; sister: Elaine Bliler of Taylorville, IL; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son: Jon Zeeb.
