L. Catherine Wade Obituary (1932 - 2024)

L. Catherine Wade, 91, of Normal, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Arc at Normal. She was born May 2, 1932 in Cooksville, daughter of Clement and Alice Stretch Kerber. She was married to Frank Wade. Surviving are four sons, Frank Wade Jr, Hudson, Robert Wade, Conifer, CO, Donald Wade, Carlock and Ronald (Cindy) Wade, Colfax and four grandchildren, Brett Wade, Matthew Wade, Caitlyn (Vince) Agans and Alexandra (Matthew) Vane. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Kendall Lillian Wade and Parker Lee Wade and one sister, Judy Kerber, Colfax. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Catherine graduated from the School of Nursing at St. Joseph Hospital. She worked first as a private duty nurse at Mennonite Hospital, then at Colfax Nursing Home and Heritage Manor in Bloomington. She last worked as a registered nurse at the Mclean County Health Department and Jail. Catherine enjoyed nature and liked to gamble at the riverboat casino, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. There will be no visitation or service. A private burial will be at Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.
