Kevin Jay McComb passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Carle-Bromenn Hospice in Normal, Illinois after a struggle with terminal cancer. He was 64 years old.\r\n\r\nKevin was born September 23, 1955 in Joliet, Illinois the eldest son of George Robert McComb and Marilyn Jean "Mimi" McComb, nee Nelson. Both preceded him in death. His brother Gregg (Joann) McComb survives. He is also survived by his Aunt June Capet nee McComb as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.\r\n\r\nHe married Cheryl Irwin on September 4, 1976 at Central Christian Church, Charleston, Illinois. She survives him. He is also survived by their son, Timothy Kevin McComb, and daughter, Heather Beth (Justin) Beeman. He greatly loved his grandchildren, Logan Hunter Beeman, Claire Isabel Beeman, and Chloe Elizabeth Beeman who survive him.\r\n\r\nKevin was a 1973 graduate of Lincoln Way High School and attended classes at Joliet Junior College. In his younger years Kevin enjoyed working at many jobs before long term employment with Insta-Foam Products in Joliet, Illinois. In 1989, he was an original hire at Diamond Star Motors, later Mitshubishi Motors, of Normal, Illinois where he worked until he retired in 2017. He was a friend of Bill W.\r\n\r\nHe was an avid coin collector who enjoyed working with machinery as well as being adept with car repairs, plumbing, metal and wood working. He was a doting grandfather who enjoyed spending all the time he could with his grandchildren and family.\r\n\r\nVisitation for Kevin will be held from Noon to 2:00PM on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Network Bible Fellowship, 1717 RT Dunn Drive, Suites 203-204 (in back of the building), Bloomington, IL. A private Celebration of Kevin's life will follow at 2:30PM at the same location. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Cheryl McComb.
