Kenny Watson

Kenny Lee Watson, 66, of Cowden, IL passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2026 in Haven of St. Elmo. He was born September 15, 1960 in Pana, IL, to the late Arthur Watson & June (Hart) Watson Bechtel.
Kenny was a 1978 graduate of Cowden-Herrick High School and worked for International Paper in Shelbyville, IL. He enjoyed deer & rabbit hunting, watching Westerns, and collecting ceramic items from Native American culture. He loved sweet tea, Reese’s & Rod Stewart. He was known for being in full Native American dress, riding his horse, in the Herrick 4th of July parade.
Kenny is survived by his children: Tosha (John) McGlathery, Springfield, IL & Nicole (James) Kirk, Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Easton McGlathery, Colston McGlathery, Sienna McGlathery, Braylon Kirk & Tinley Kirk and siblings: Melinda Wehrle (Henry Endris), Robinson, IL & Eddy (Pamela) Watson, Beecher City, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Penny Watson & Melody Watson in infancy.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
The family will host a celebration of life on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at the Herrick Baptist Church with a meal to follow at the church. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
