Keith William Ashbeck Obituary (1949

Henry: Keith William Ashbeck, 74, of Henry, passed away Friday June 28, 2024, 3:54 pm at his home in Henry. Keith was born September 13, 1949, in Chicago, IL to Reuben and Anna (Neuman) Ashbeck. He married Suzanne Elizabeth Lechner on May 4, 1974, and they later divorced. Keith is survived by his three children Victoria A. Ashbeck of Pekin, Megan C. Siegmann of Henry, and David A. (Jessica) Ashbeck of Heyworth, and by his four grandchildren Logan Siegmann, Kenlee Ashbeck, Hannah Ashbeck, and Cecelia Ashbeck. Keith is also survived by his siblings Kenneth (Bonnie) Ashbeck of Park Ridge, Carol Bishop of Streator, and Richard (Jana) Ashbeck of Chicago along with many nieces, nephews, and grand-pets Kaiser and Sadie. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers William Ashbeck and Alan Ashbeck, his sister Deanna Beck, his sister-in-law Deborah Ashbeck, and brothers-in-law Homer Bishop and Leonard Beck II. Keith served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973. After exiting the Navy, Keith worked as a specialty machinist until retirement. Keith found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Some of his favorite moments in life were watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting events, dance recitals, plays and musicals, concerts and their many other activities. Keith instilled his love of music in his children and grandchildren, and always kept himself busy, whether it was helping family and friends with repairs, remodeling his home, or any of a multitude of other projects. Keith was a kind and compassionate man to all who knew him, both human and canine alike. Saint Josaphat Catholic Church, the family church in Chicago (located at 2311 N. Southport in Chicago, Illinois 60614) will be holding a Special Intention Mass for Keith on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 8:00 am. All family and friends are invited to attend. A memorial visitation will be held Friday July 5, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry. A service of remembrance will be held at 11:30 am Friday at the memorial home. Inurnment will follow at Henry Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the Henry American Legion.
