Keirsty Marie Hughes Obituary (1992 - 2022)

Keirsty Marie Hughes, 29, of Blue Mound, IL, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, in rural Assumption, IL. Keirsty was born on October 15, 1992, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of the late Todd Hughes and Candy (Buchanan) Prose. She is survived by her son, Jayce Noah Durbin; father of her child, Jacob Durbin; mother, Candy Buchanan of Springfield, IL; brother, Devin Prose; sister, Kairei Hughes; maternal grandfather, Terry Buchanan; aunt, Teena Minnis; uncle, Craig Bowman, and several cousins. Keirsty was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandmother, Debra Hughes, and maternal grandmother, Betty Kluge. Keirsty enjoyed going to rock concerts and listening to rock music, such as My Chemical Romance, AFI, Metallica, 2 Pac, Five Finger Death Punch, Ozzy Osbourne, Halestorm, Paramore and Evanescence. Keirsty had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. She also loved her animals, but above all else, she loved her son Jayce and her family. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Keirsty’s name may be to the family of Keirsty Hughes. Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
