Kathryn Margaret Doore Smith Obituary (1909

Kathryn Margaret Doore Smith, 97, of Shelbyville died Sunday, May 14, 2006 at 4:30pm in Shelbyville Manor. She was born March 28, 1909 in Marble Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Allen Willis Doore and Minnie Irene Dunning Doore. Kathryn was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College, and taught in a one room school house for 10 years. Kathryn married Paul N. Smith of Waukesha, Wisconsin on May 23, 1936 at the "Little Brown Church" in Nashua, Iowa. She is survived by her son, Dr. Allen O. Smith and wife Carol, Hickory, North Carolina and their children, Darcie and Corey; and daughter, Yvonne Kathryn Smith Elam and husband James, Assumption-Owaneco, Illinois and their children, Cinthia, Edward, and Michael; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on January 10, 1990, two sisters, one brother, and one great-grandchild. Funeral Information No services will be held locally. Kathryn will be entombed with her husband at Lee Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lee High Acres, Florida.
