Kathryn Goodwin

Kathryn Louise Goodwin 92 of Decatur, IL formerly of Mt. Zion passed away at 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.

A service to honor Kathryn’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning until service time. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Kathryn was born on July 25, 1934, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Wilford C. and Louise (Carver) Wendel. She married Wayne H. Goodwin on December 28, 1951. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2006. Kathryn was a member of the Antioch Christian Church. She enjoyed her last years with friends at Tanglewood Village and enjoyed playing bingo.

Surviving are her children: Karolyn L. Williams (Jim) of Mt. Auburn, IL, Victoria E. Newberry (Rex) of Lovington, IL, Connie D. Larry (Chris) of Mt. Carmel, IL, Wendi Reinolt (Mark) of Caldwell, ID, and Jay C. Goodwin (Julie) of Sullivan, IL; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers: Gene, Lee, and Neil, and one great-grandson.
