Katherine Miller

Katherine S. “Katie” Miller 40, of Decatur, IL passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side.

Katie was born July 22, 1985, in Urbana, IL the daughter of David and Sarah (Downing) Church. Katie graduated from Centennial High School in Champaign, IL. She moved to Decatur, IL to run Curly’s Sports Bar with her husband, Jason Miller. Jason preceded her in death on September 2, 2015.

Surviving is her son: Patrick Dawson of Decatur whom she deeply adored; partner: Sean Dawson of Decatur; parents: David and Sarah Church of Harlingen, TX; brother: Ryan Church (Shannon) of Springfield, MO; sister: Erin Hedman (Darren) of Keller, TX; nephews: Luke Hedman and Ben Hedman both of Keller, TX; Aunt: Emily Clayton (Bill) of Springfield, MO; Uncle: David Downing (Erin) of Springfield, MO.

A memorial service to honor Katie’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Calvert & Wikoff North Chapel. Interment will be in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, where her son Patrick attends.
