Karen Marie Seerup

Karen Marie Seerup, 88, of Dwight, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 8:25 a.m. at Heritage Manor in Dwight, IL.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.

Karen was born on May 11, 1925 in Vindrup, Denmark, daughter of Edward and Vilhelmine (Bodilsen) Grinderslev. She married Harold Christian Seerup on November 13, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He passed away in 2000.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Jerry) Wahl of Dwight, IL; two grandchildren, Jerry Michale (Lori) Wahl of Breese, IL and Susan Marie Carrasco of Dwight, IL; two great grandchildren, Brianna M. Wahl of Breese, IL and Thomas J. Carrasco of Dwight, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Hans Grinderslev and Harry Grinderslev; one son, John Wayne "Cakes" Seerup; and one sister-in-law, Yetta Grinderslev.

Karen attended Hirsch High School in Chicago, IL. She was self-employed for over 20 years as a dog groomer at Har Kar Kennel in Gardner, IL. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Dwight, IL.
