Bloomington, Illinois

Visitation for Karen will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hudson Baptist Church, with funeral services commencing at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hudson Cemetery.

Born on December 4, 1945, Karen was the daughter of Wendell and Dorothy (Gildersleeve) Stotler. She was united in marriage to William Clause, who predeceased her in 2006.

She is survived by her daughter, Melisa Scott (Hudson); grandchildren, Javier Safford (Jasmine), Las Vegas, NV; Arden Scott, and Tristan Scott; great-grandson, Silas Safford, Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Lloyd Stotler (Sharon) of Bloomington and Wayne Stotler (Beverly) of Hudson; and a cousin regarded as a brother, Robert Mays of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son, Wendell F. Clause.

Karen's career included service as a bookkeeper for the Hudson Implement Store until its closure, after which she joined the Community Action Center as a receptionist, retiring after two decades of dedicated work. She enjoyed creating personalized greeting cards for friends and family and loved playing bingo. Karen also enjoyed being involved in her church community. She took joy in participating in every activity she could, whether it was ice cream socials, summer Vacation Bible School, or any of the other events her church hosted. Her faith and community were a big part of her life, and she cherished every moment spent serving, celebrating, and connecting with others there.

Above all, her deepest joy came from her family. She treasured her three grandchildren and her one great-grandchild with all her heart. They were her pride, her happiness, and the light of her life. Every moment she spent with them, whether celebrating milestones or simply being together, meant the world to her.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, and her presence will be greatly missed by family and friends.
