Kandice Irene Rickey Obituary (1948

Kandice "Kandi" Irene Rickey, 75, of Normal, died Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center. Kandi was born July 17, 1948, in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Harold D. and Geraldine (Anderson) Kappler. She married Wayne Rickey in 1969 with whom she had three children. Surviving are her one son, Bradley (Jennifer) Rickey; two daughters, Amy Rickey and Julie Rickey; six grandchildren, Bradley (Raven) Jr., Justin, Amanda (Joshua), Olivia, John IV, and Addison; one great-grandchild, Tawny; one brother Dean Kappler; three nephews, Louie, Paul and Nicholas; one niece, Lisa; one sister-in-law, Connie (Tom) Barham; one brother-in-law, Darrell (Sue Anne) Rickey. She was preceded in death by her parents, two granddaughters, Ashley and Katlyn; one niece, Skye; and one sister-in-law, Diana. She worked at State Farm in the Creative Services Department for over 20 years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren and go on adventures with her best friend Penny. Her visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Friday October 27, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. Her memorial mass will follow at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy Illinois. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home.
