Kai C. Libby Obituary (1966

It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Kai C. Libby, 58, of Pontiac, passed away on December 24, 2024, at 1:00 pm. There will be a visitation on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with a service to follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Williams. Burial will be at a later date following cremation. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac is in charge of arrangements. Kai was born June 22, 1966, in Lakenheath, England to Charles F. and Christa (Reber) Libby. His mother survives in Pontiac. He married Lori Lincheski on July 5, 2014, in Cumberland Falls, KY. She survives in Pontiac. Also surviving are his sons, Cody A. (Chelsea) Libby of Whitewater, WI and Jacob D. (Elizabeth) Libby of Yorktown, VA; daughter, Kylie Olson of TX; stepsons, Justin P. Wiseman of Bloomington and Josh R. (Amanda) Wiseman of Chenoa; sister, Tanya C. (Donna) Libby of Dekalb; grandchild, Quinn Wiseman of Chenoa; and nephew, Ian P. Libby of Dekalb. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles F. Libby. He was a class of 1985 graduate of Romeoville High School. He was a self-employed construction contractor for his entire life throughout the state of Illinois. He was a Firefighter-EMT for Pontiac Fire for 3 years. He attended the Authentic Church in Pontiac, served as co-administration of the Illinois Storm Community Team and was an avid storm chaser. He was also a member of the Billiards American Pool Association. A true original, Kai was known for his quick wit, playful sense of humor and knack for pulling pranks that left everyone laughing. Kai was a natural at bringing joy to others, whether through his love of cooking, his lighthearted jokes or his uncanny ability to make people smile. He was also a person of immense generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand and showing compassion to everyone he met. His humor was matched only by his heart and Kai touched countless lives with his selflessness and kindness. He found joy in the simple things, like sharing a good laugh or enjoying a quiet moment with friends and family. He also had an uncanny ability to fix, repair, or build anything he came across.
