Junior "Jerry" Bowman Obituary (1922

Junior G. "Jerry" Bowman, 96, of Bloomington, formerly of Pontiac, passed away at 7:45 pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Heritage Manor in Normal. Cremation rites will be accorded and a private graveside inurnment will be held at Southside Cemetery in Pontiac with military rites. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Mclean County. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac is handling the arrangements. He was born in Pontiac, IL a son of Charles and Pearl (Davies) Bowman, He married Marjory Henceroth, she preceded him in death on July 2, 1987, he then married Carol Collatz in 1992, she survives. Also surviving are one son: Stephen Bowman of Albuquerque, NM; one daughter: Margie Brown of Bloomington, IL; two step daughters: Jennifer (James) Engelman of Lexington, IL, Sheila Egly of Normal, IL; one step son: Randy Egly of Appleton, WI; two brothers: William (Phyllis) Bowman of Pontiac, IL, Jim (Ellena) Bowman of Massachusetts; one sister: Betty Alexander of Kenney, IL; daughter in Law: Amy Bowman of Indianapolis, IN; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded In death by his parents, his first wife, Marjory, two sons: Jerry M and Robert L Bowman; two brothers: John and Clark Bowman and his sister: Marie Burky. Jerry served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, after retirement he work for the Depart of Defense in Washington D.C. for 13 years as a cartographer, he was a member of American Legion Post 635 in Normal. He loved working with wood and loved dogs
