June Marie Middaugh Lucas passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Martin Health Care, Bloomington.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 13 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home. A private family burial will follow.

Memorials may be made to Wishbone Canine Rescue.

June was born June 19, 1936, to Darrell and Lempi (Impila) Middaugh in Hibbing, Mn. She married Gary Lucas in 1961 and they raised 2 sons, W. Scott Lucas (Susi) and David (Christa) all of Bloomington. She has two grandchildren who she adored, Drew (Hibbing, Mn) and Andrea (Bloomington). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

June worked most of her adult life in banking and retired from Champion Federal.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Carol (Louis) Collyard; two brothers-in-law, William Lucas and Don (Delores) Lucas; two sisters-in-law, Shirley (Louis) Rebol and Marianne (Sandy) Rantala; and Gary, her husband of 45 years.

After retirement, June and Gary enjoyed wintering in Florida. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: walking her dog through the neighborhood with friends, tending to her garden, and discovering treasures at estate sales. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, gentle kindness, and deep love for her family and friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers who supported June in her final years, including Shirley Craig; St. Joseph Medical Center, The Arc of ElPaso; Martin Health Care; and the dedicated staff and volunteers of Carle Hospice. Their kindness and loving care brought comfort to June and her family.

June’s life was a testament to resilience, and quiet grace. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
