Judy E. Johnson

WASHBURN – Judy E. Johnson, 82, of Indian Head Park, formerly of Washburn, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home in Washburn. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Bob DeBolt officiating. Committal and entombment will follow at Linn Mt. Vernon Cemetery Mausoleum in Washburn, Illinois.

Judy was born on January 10, 1944, in Peoria, Illinois, to Ernest and Lorene (Pelz) Seifert. On December 19, 1965, she married Bruce Johnson in Berwyn, Illinois.
After graduating from high school, Judy attended Midstate Business College for two years. Early in their marriage, she worked at Ridgeland Savings and Loan while Bruce attended law school, and later worked for The Hinsdale Doings newspaper. Giving back to her community was deeply important to Judy, and she spent many years as a dedicated volunteer at LaGrange Hospital.

Judy lived a vibrant, active life filled with outdoor adventures and physical fitness. Over the years, she enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, bike riding, golfing, playing tennis, and staying active with friends in exercise classes. Above all, Judy had a deep love for animals—holding a special place in her heart for cats and finding great comfort in feeding and watching the birds around her home.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Bruce; her son, Eric (Courtney) Johnson of Valparaiso, Indiana; and her cousins, Bob Wiseman, Hal Wiseman, Don Tolan, Elvon Tolan, and Kay Tolan.
