Clinton, Illinois

Judith “Lynn” Ferguson (Anderson), 79, of Weldon, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Born on December 15, 1946, in Danville, Illinois, Lynn was the daughter of Maxwell Eugene and Audrey Leonabelle (Breeding) Anderson. After graduating from high school, she attended Illinois Commercial College in Champaign, Illinois. While working at the University of Illinois Department of Agronomy, she met Danny Ross Ferguson, and they were married on July 21, 1974, in Urbana, Illinois.
Following their marriage, Lynn and Danny lived in Galesburg, Illinois, for three years before moving to Hoopeston, Illinois, where they began farming in 1977. In 1982, they moved to Weldon, where they continued farming together until their retirement in 2017.
A devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, Lynn found her greatest joy in her family. She spent her life caring for those she loved while always making time to give to others. She took great pride in farm life, working tirelessly during planting season and harvest while also managing the farm’s finances throughout the years. At home, she took equal pride in tending to their home, the yard and many beautiful flowers, her garden filled with delicious tomatoes and vegetables, as well as enjoying time relaxing in her pool. An amazing cook, she was known for preparing elaborate holiday meals and beloved family favorites, including chicken and noodles and her famous Texas sheet cake. Her two grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart. She helped care for them whenever she could and treasured following their activities and celebrating their accomplishments over the years.
Another passion Lynn held close to her heart was genealogy. She treasured learning about her family’s history and preserving the stories of those who came before her. Her generosity extended beyond her family through her dedication to blood donation. Throughout her lifetime, she donated more than 21 gallons of O-negative blood, continuing for as long as she was able. This remarkable commitment reflected her giving spirit and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Lynn also had an extraordinary love for cats and all animals. Over the years, she welcomed and cared for many cats in her home and on her homestead. Her compassion for animals was a defining part of who she was, and the love and companionship they brought her gave her immeasurable happiness.
Lynn will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, her generosity and selflessness, her strong work ethic and spirit, and her deep compassion for animals. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of home and in the life she and Danny built together. Her love and kindness touched many lives, and the memories she leaves behind will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Danny Ross Ferguson of Weldon, Illinois; her daughter, Jami Rae (Michael Robert) Huesing of Williamsville, Illinois; her two beloved grandchildren, Marissa Nichole Huesing and Brock Edward Huesing, both of Williamsville, Illinois; and her brother, Norman Eugene (Lynn) Anderson of Naples, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Weldon Cemetery in Weldon, Illinois, with Brock Eckert officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. that morning at Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton, Illinois.
